The William R. and Dorothy Jane Wood Papers consist of correspondence, photographs, meeting minutes, reports, awards and certificates, diplomas, speeches, programs, publications, notes, newsclippings, ephemera and other materials all relating to the lives and activities of William R. and Dorothy Jane Wood. The papers document William R. Wood's career as a writer, an educator, including his tenure as President of the University of Alaska, as well as his political activities and his involvement in civic activities in Alaska. Also included are materials tracing Wood's military service and his activities as a retired veteran. The papers also document the educational, military and civic activities of Wood's wife, Dorothy Jane and her involvement in community and university affairs during William Wood's tenure as University President.
